I've been making some items for a ferret sanctuary and hospice. This is my second attempt at a "hanging sleep sack". My boy Bug (a little over 3 lbs.) is my (insanely cute) model.

If anyone is interested I can provide a picture that shows the sack better/give contact details for the sanctuary.

How cute! Did you make the pattern yourself or use one?

Thanks! I made the pattern, but it was no big deal. I cut one rectangle the size of the inside of the sack opened up, and one for the outside about 4 inches shorter. I sewed both of those into flat pockets, turned the outer one inside out and turned the opening edge to the inside. Then I turned the edge of the inner one enough to the outside that I'd be able to sew it through all layers and have no gaps. See the tutorial here for my construction inspiration: http://www.themotherhuddle.com/tutorial-hanging-fabric-baskets-or-pockets/

I then used some of the outside fabric to make loops that I could put drapery rings through and attached those through all layers.

The easiest (and maybe least expensive) way to hang this is to use regular old shower hooks. I mean the no-frills ones that you can get at fabric stores for two bucks per set of 12.

I've been mentally working on ways to improve this project. I'll try them out with the next sack, but it won't be until later this weekend. I just had a medical procedure done and I am still loopy from the meds. (So I hope my instructions made sense.)

Everything makes perfect sense! I'll have to give this a try with some old polar fleece I've got laying around. Thank you!
